its been a while...actually a long time since i blogged..-__-"
currently doing nothing..no work..basically i have no life
been cooped up in house for more than a month..
what do i do on 'normal' days?..basic stuff..
1.wake up
2.eat breakfast
3.watch tv
4.lunch
5.play computer
6.watch tv
7.bathe
8.dinner
9.watch tv
10.play com
and.....i have applied for a job..so far no reply!!!
need a job..please accept me..*insert desperate face*
*sigh*...i'm envy/jealous of all my friends...specifically, my nursing friends
when i meet them, they discuss about their interview with the nursing directors
and about nursing, i feel left out.
and all my friends fb statuses saying about work in the hospital and such..
im afraid after all this i dont have a career..i dont plan on being a nurse after ns..
i need/want a career..i gotta plan fast after ns..
well..i planned out after ns, i want to apply for driving license, after that maybe cont my bike..
during that period i try to find some part time jobs..after i gt my license, i want to concentrate on my career..

told my mom i want to cont studies, but not nursing related..
i feel like doing physiotherapy..sounds cool!!!...-__-"

graduate liao...staff nurse liao..no more student nurse..
12 weeks of gruelling stress gone..burden over..
the experience was great..
theres a lot to see in a surgical ward..wounds and procedures..
a lot of interesting cases with many problems..
glad to be in this ward with a great CI..
if i were to continue my nursing career it would be in ward 47..
the best ward inn cgh!!..

Its the 19th of december..where yours truly was born 19 years ago...
and im working morning shift..-_______-"...some more my team no EN..so bo pian have to be EN..
so i worked my ass off the whole day doing parameters, bathe patients, make beds..clean asses and dicks..literally
super tired...and my pca bought me soya bean for good work :)..
ard 2pm frens called me and shu hui to go pantry and.....SURPRISE!..
my colleagues bought us cake for our birthday!...choc cake from polar..yummy..thx guys..

lepak with sis and cousin..talking abt work and all..
cousin told us stories dealing with pt's relatives..funny shit!
next day sis belanja me go watch AVATAR...
awesome movie..worth your money..but prepare to have pressure sores...on ur ass..
ate pastamania..and walk2 ard tampines mall..
fell in love with a perfume..dangs it smell good..i want!!!
i say this year is one of the best birthdays ever..since i dont really celebrate it..ever
best buddies called up to wish me..each time we planned of outing for my bdae tk menjadi..haha

a bit dissapointed that someone forgotten my birthday...so far she havent wished me..
having doubts whether i should cont. pursuing you..last time i heard..u were with someone..heh..
now im having a crush on one of the EN's in the ward..but she's attached..dangs..and we're very close..
my sis said wait after NS..i wish *that* day will come...

ok..here i am back again whining about attachment...
and its only the 1st week..like i said, CI has lots of expectations...
week 1 came and went by...wasnt as bad as i thought it would...afternoon shift nothing much to do..
thurs and fri morning shift..thats where all the action takes place...
first thing take report..make beds and parameters at the same time..after that make sure everyone has bathed..
and took their meds...

then it was 10am...usually ard this time is where we do our dressings..
kena assessed by CI..didnt do a good job..forgot to take out the disposable bag and put on apron..
and my infection technique is omg...see la..the result of not doing dressing for a long time...-____-"..literally
one month at saint andrews and i only did ONE dressing..hahahaha..
but im more proactive when it comes to med rounds...
like i said in one of my previous post...im pro at serving meds at st andrews..
so..test out my new found talent at cgh..i still gt it!..oh yeah!
and not to mention..i injected one of my patients..COOL! ..this is a big thing cos im a sadist..-____-"

friday was a mess..sorta..so many staff took MC..so my team gt no EN's..there's only 1 SSN, 2 NYP YR3, 1 NP YR2, 1 NP YR1..
so like CI said..as future staff nurses..we gotta delegate..gotta do an EN's job..we took it..
i let the ngee ann students do parameters....hohoho..bully them..no offence..start frm the basics..get the experience they need..
so me and my nyp colleague made the beds and make sure everything is neat and tidy..
after that did dressings..i took CI's feedback positively and implemented on it..and wow..look at the result..
i think i did a good dressing..everything was in place, tubes secured and cleaned..yippee!

thats all for the 1st week i guess...

got to learn how to call doc..ans the phone..transfer..discharge and whatever shit..
on top of that dressings to be done..fall precaution need to be implemented..reports to fill up..
and not to mentioned we're supposed to guide the year one NP students...-____-"..dats not my job issit??
no offence..NP nursing students look blur all the time..and they look soooooo slack and carefree..take things easily..haiyo!

1st day super draggy..at ward 47..met my new colleagues..luckily xanthe is there..sumone i know!
and the rest..well..i should get to know them a bit better during the 3 months..
well..like always im the rose among the thorns...or the thorn among the roses..im the only guy..
btw..there is a cute year 1 NP student...anyways..im pretty much stressed out..although its only the 1st day..haiz
i'll leave to another day..

ok went back to school for blood donation drive..
ultimately my motive of coming to school is just to take back my psp from yat...
so, killed two birds with one stone...heheh!
woohoo!!..5th time donating blood..5 times!...5 times!...5 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so technically i've saved 5 people... :P
its in my blood to donate blood...turns out that grandad used to donate blood and gt all these medals..
cool shit..so i made a point to myself to get one of those medals...^^..

so the usual procedures..weight taking, bp taking, pulse, hb count..blahx3..
go ready for needle puncture!..weeeee!!!..needles ftw!!!..injections ftw!!!
so jab ard 1-2mls of lignocaine..a painkiller...
then comes the big needle..weeeeee!!!!
took ard 10-15mins for the blood to fill a pint...done..
so there i was..laying, waiting for the needle to be pulled out and arm bandaged...
suddenly...everything was a blur...closed my eyes..thought i was in a dream.......K-O
opened my eyes...i realised i was laying down flat with legs upright..
doc was there explaining what happened to me..
said its a common side effect after donating blood..its called..sumthing sumthing phenomena..
was very tired..my neighbour was like...are you ok?..you were like shaking..like fits..
i was like..what!?...cool shit!..was i K-Oed for long?..and was i really shaking like fits???

bottom line..gt dizzy..K-O..open eyes+rest=feeling better
doc said the brain told the heart to slow down heartbeat..and when the heart beats slower..it gt much slower..
therefore bp goes down=dizzy..K-O...
sumthing like that...4gt what he said..heh..watever it is..its cool shit!!!!
so laid there for a few minutes..then gt up to take some refreshments..MILO!!!+OREOS!!..
then Grace came up to me...awwwwww...hahahaha..thx Grace!...for your concern!
yat was fed up coz he had to wait for me...and that i coax him to wait with free milo and oreos and a good explanation for making him wait..so i told him everything and he laughed...lolololol...gt my psp back..still very tired..gonna stop here..

just finished my A&E posting..omg!..it was soooooo AWESOME!
1st day orientation standard..then off to treatment room..as you all know..
monday blues=many patients with all types of complaints..
fake ah!..admit u just want an mc la!..esp the army guys..so bad at lying..seriously..nk tipu tk agak2..
treatment room basically do ecg's, injections, dressings, and backslabs for fractured bones..
so many ppl come for ecg..i think  know i pro alrdy in taking ecg..hoho..bangga!
tues was slack day..surprisingly not much patients..observation nothing but taking vitals, drip and medicine..
even in the resus..was sooo looking forward..but nothing much..
mayb those suiciders take an off day..(-__-)"..

wed was when our real CI came..slack in NM room when shift abt to end..talk abt crappy stuff..
thurs and fri most awesome..the most interesting cases came in..
CI showed how the cardiac thumper in action with a manequin..cool shit..
not long till a collapse case came in and saw the thumper in action on a real person..
the guy did not make it..i saw him took his last breath away..wrapped him up..
saw his case notes..at least knowing he died a happy death..*cant tell you why..if you knew u'll be laughing your ass off*
fri saw an rta case..basically a part of the man's leg muscle was ripped off..bloody cool shit!
miss A&E..1 week is too short..

started OT today..cold shit!!!..
mustard colour scrubs..yuck..so not nice..
crocs sux..bleahs..tk selese..slack 1st day..orientation..
went cssd.central sterelise sumthing department..@_@
so here u can see things being sterelised..where all u're used sterile items go..
the place looks like a factory..give our scrubs..we look like freaking factory workers with the 'hair net'
so learned how to fold the sterile dressing set aka TNS set and into the steriliser..
tea time..stole biscuits to eat in the staff lounge..after that went to recovery room..
saw boobs there..literally..fyi patients go ot naked..wearing only ot gown..
tmr go operation room!..orthopaedics(related to bones) at that..hope to see saw cutting action by the surgeon!!!..

1 more week till end of geron posting...1 month of..erm..boring-ness?
well..nothing much to do...at least i've done something i never did before...
giving subcutaneous injection...hoho!..and of course nebuliser..
i've never been so confident in giving medication..practice makes perfecto!!!
3 weeks came and gone..quite fast actually...surprisingly it doesnt feel like 1 month..

3rd week of posting was the best can?
3 days of practicing for divertional therapy=no work...didnt even go to ward..haha..
practice wat?...DANCING!!!!...wth..yep..its true..
kena sabo and i'm supposed to a malay dance with the girls...

the last time was when im in K2!!!...the memory is so vivid..you want to why???
